Jennifer Szczyrbak lives in Moose Lake, Minnesota with her husband, four children as well as four foster children. She is an active mom, wife, community member and church member. She draws inspiration for her highly original art " from the things that God places in my path. I have an appreciation of where I've been and an excitement about where I am going and my paintings tend to mirror that." The vibrant colors and Jennifer's choice of subject matter reflect her joy as well as her spiritual roots. Not only does Jennifer find pleasure in painting, she has a love for sculpting as well. With the driftwood she finds along the shores of area lakes she creates a variety of self-standing sculptures or wall-hangings including animals such as birds, moose and deer. Jennifer has a sculptural way of applying paint to her canvases as well. She rarely uses a paint brush and typical artist's paints. Instead she uses fabric paint squeezing it directly out of the tube layer by layer on to stretched canvas using her fingers as her brush creating an almost 3-dimensional effect. As a result, patrons cannot resist running a hand along the bumpy surface of each multi-layered painting.
